Hooves for Healing is an established Equine Assisted Learning Centre. Our sole purpose is to provide the community we serve with equine assisted learning, which includes therapeutic riding . Our location is along the Wirral coastline amidst leafy lanes and a great equestrian community. We have been providing an active service in the community since 2016. We are a CIO (charitable incorporated organisation). We have x 4 trustees , 3 of which are horse owners with accreditations. Our activities include agility, long reigning, leading, brushing and pony care/stable and field management. We are a licensed establishment through Wirral authorities and are also on the HEIR register . We serve 13 local schools in the community along with Justice services, social services, and the local authorities who use our provision for many children in care . We work over a 5-day week, our horses and ponies get x 2 days rest per week, along with staff. We person centred, with 1-1 sessions for those who struggle to mix. This may include therapeutic ridden work in walk only and on a lead rein (off the headcollar). Our average weekly clientele is between 50-60 children and young people between the age of 5-26 years. We provide our service to those who have additional needs, neurodivergence, mental ill health, anxiety and stress-related struggles. Our service has encouraged many of our young people. Once they are confident, have built their self esteem and feel improved mental wellbeing, they may progress to return to education. Many join a local riding school to progress, which is such a fabulous achievement. We are small but mighty and make a huge impact in the community.
