On Monday 28 February, we held a Zoom meeting to update Riding Establishments on the changes to the Council Licensing Regulations that came into effect on 16 Feb. This meeting was hosted by George Baber, ABRS+ Director of Member Services and Operations. We had around 50 schools on the call – some ABRS+ members and others that were not (it was an open meeting). The attendees were a mix of those that just wanted an update and a number who had issues with the Regulations.
For those who attended and would like a copy of the presentation and notes, or those who were unable to attend, please find attached the presentation from the meeting and associated notes: Council Licensing Update Meeting- Presentation and Notes
Council Licensing is important to both us and our members – and it needs to be right. It is clear from the meeting that there are various issues surrounding both the understanding, and the implementation of the guidance in general, rather than just these recent changes, and the ABRS+ have raised these issues as a point for further discussion, and to request involvement in the review of the Animal Welfare legislation that is scheduled for 2023, and with the development of the associated guidance.
Any further updates will be published accordingly.
