We are a small family run stables, positioned just a few minutes walk from the centre of Mossley.
We are easily accessible in all weathers by car or public transport. The frequent and regular bus service stops just 100 yards from our entrance.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
We specialise in teaching young children (5 years and above) to ride, helping nervous riders regain their confidence and training in horse welfare and stable management. We train and examine for the ABRS tests in both equitation and stable management, and are an accredited centre for the ABRS Preliminary Groom’s Certificate.
There is a 13½ stone maximum weight limit for our riders, although the weight limit is not significant for the stable management and horse welfare sessions.
We have a small enclosed riding arena with a sand and rubber surface, providing a safe environment and which is usable in most weathers. The arena is floodlit for winter evening lessons. Although we deal mainly with beginners we are able to provide more advanced lessons and have a set of jumps for riders who enjoy jumping.
We provide both group and private lessons. The groups are never more than 6 riders and are for one hour. The private lessons are for a half hour. We are well positioned for quiet hacks around country lanes and on bridleways. Hacks are by arrangement only and riders must be relatively experienced, unless it is a lead rein hack.
During school holidays we provide a wide range of different activities such as Pony Days, lead rein hacks, hacks for experienced riders and jumping days.
