ABRS+ Proud to Help Lead New Sustainability Initiative for the Equestrian Industry

Posted on 21st May 2026

ABRS+ is proud to be one of the leading organisations collaborating on an exciting new digital resource designed to support equestrians in embracing environmental sustainability across every part of the industry.

Launching in autumn 2026, thehoofprint.com will be a free online hub offering practical guidance, training, inspiration and resources to help equestrian businesses, riding schools, venues, yards and individuals become more sustainable, resilient and future-focused.

Created by sustainability specialists White Griffin, the platform will cover a wide range of topics including rainwater harvesting, paddock management, renewable energy, muck management, tack repair and reuse, carbon footprint calculations, and much more, all tailored specifically for the equestrian sector.

ABRS+ is working alongside a respected group of organisations helping to shape and drive the project forward, including British Equestrian, British Showjumping, British Dressage, British Eventing, The Pony Club, World Horse Welfare, Riding for the Disabled Association, Agria and NAF.

The initiative recognises that sustainability is becoming increasingly important for the long-term future of equestrianism. By sharing knowledge, practical solutions and real-life examples, the project aims to help equestrians make positive changes that not only benefit the environment, but also improve efficiency, resilience and cost-effectiveness within their businesses and yards.

Ahead of the launch, the team behind thehoofprint.com is keen to hear from equestrians, riding schools, yard owners and businesses already taking positive steps towards sustainability. Whether you have introduced recycling initiatives, improved pasture management, reduced waste, embraced renewable energy or found innovative ways to reuse equipment, your experiences could help inspire others across the industry.

Over the coming months, the team will be travelling around the country to showcase practical examples of sustainability in action within equestrian settings.

If you have a story or initiative you would like to share, please contact Ruth Dancer at White Griffin via ruth@whitegriffin.co.uk.

The project team is also inviting equestrians to take part in a short survey HERE to help shape the future content and direction of the platform, ensuring it delivers the information and support the industry most wants and needs.

ABRS+ is delighted to be part of this important collaboration and looks forward to supporting equestrians in building a stronger, more sustainable future for our industry.
