During May and June the ABRS have made presentations to the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons and the British Equine Veterinary Association at their induction and CPD day on Local Authority Licensing.
Many members had expressed concerns about the lack of consistency in the way the way these checks are carried out and charged.
So Dave Pettifor, as ABRS Head of Development and Paula Leverton, ABRS Chair of Inspections, raised these issues on the members behalf at meetings held at Newbury and Uttoxeter racecourses.
Following her meeting at Uttoxeter, Paula was asked if she could provide some statistics to support the verbal evidence being gathered in the room. All of you that allow us to contact you by e-mail received a request for details from Sue Maunder. Your response has been great at over 10% return but to have a real picture across the country we need more if we are to help the ones that are being treated unfairly.
The ABRS are now more aware of the legalities around Licensing and are now in a position to help Riding Schools that are being charged wrongly. Please search you’re Inbox and reply.
